Ganesh Brand Jeerakathi Rice

Ganesh Brand Jeerakathi rice, also known as Jeera Rice or Zeera Rice, is a distinct and traditional rice type found mostly in Bangladesh and certain portions of West Bengal, India. The name “Jeerakathi” is derived from the word “jeera” (which means “cumin” in Bengali), since the grains are thin and slender, similar to cumin seeds. This rice type, known for its mild scent and light texture, is popular in regular meals as well as particular regional cuisines.

Jeerakathi rice contains small, fine grains that resemble cumin seeds. It has a gentle, pleasant scent that is not as strong as basmati or Gobindobhog, but is still aromatic enough to enrich recipes. Jeerakathi rice is light and fluffy when cooked, and does not clump together, making it suitable for pilafs and other dry rice dishes.
